Two smoothies blended separately and poured slowly, so the pink and gold stay in their own lanes.

This is a simple two layer dragon fruit smoothie made with frozen dragon fruit and mango that comes together in just 10 minutes. Both layers have banana and dates for sweetness, with coconut milk and a little lime juice. The mango layer also has some fresh turmeric. Everything is blended separately and layered into a glass. I personally prefer frozen fruit because it gives the smoothie a much thicker consistency without needing to add ice. You can use coconut milk straight from the fridge, but if you have a good blender, you can also freeze the coconut milk in an ice tray, which will make the smoothie even thicker.

Why This Works

The frozen fruit makes it thick without adding ice. The dragon fruit and mango also provide a solid amount of fiber, while the banana and dates make it sweet. Plus, the turmeric adds a little extra flavor without making the smoothie complex.

Notes & Tips

  • Freeze everything: Use frozen dragon fruit, frozen banana and frozen mango for a thicker smoothie.
  • For an even thicker blend: If you have a good blender, freeze the coconut milk in an ice tray or bigger ice cubes for an even thicker consistency.
  • Keep the layers clean: Blend both layers separately and pour the second layer slowly.
  • No frozen fruit on hand: If you are making this on the go and don’t have anything frozen, cut down 50% of coconut milk and throw in some ice cubes while blending.
