The Trend: So long, HIIT and CrossFit. Low-impact workouts are all the rage heading into 2026, and we can’t say we’re surprised — after a tumultuous year and ever-rising pressure from social media to do more and be more, we the people are tired! Pilates topped ClassPass’s global fitness trends report for 2025, and a particular branch of the workout — Lagree Fitness — is gaining more steam than ever.

What People Are Saying: Pilates is the shadow that Lagree’s founder, Sebastien Lagree, can’t seem to shake. It’s not Pilates, he shouts from rooftops, but an evolution of Reformer workouts that more closely mirror bodybuilding. Participants say the resulting muscle burn is “next level” and wonder why they didn’t start sooner. One lifestyle journalist at the LA Times who tried Lagree called it “the most intense non-Pilates, Pilates-adjacent exercise out there.”

What to Know: Lagree Fitness utilizes an advanced Reformer called the Megaformer, and combines elements of muscle-strengthening exercise, core stability, range of motion training, and cardiovascular fitness into one low-impact, time-efficient workout. It’s intentionally slow-paced, so it might be a tough (but worthwhile) change-up for the likes of cardio bunnies and hardcore Hyrox fans.
