The Trend: For more than one billion people who experience painful migraines every year, treatment has always been reactive. Fewer than 20% of patients are ever prescribed preventative medication, leaving most to identify and manage triggers on their own. Now, a new wave of tech is stepping in to fill that gap so that care can shift toward early detection and personalized prevention.

What People Are Saying: Wearables from Oura and Ultrahuman can analyze biometric data and scan for warning signs before an attack hits. Neura Health relies on a combination of telemedicine and AI coaching to prevent attacks before they start, while Kaia Health focuses on exercise-based approaches. There are also drug-free devices like Nerivio and Cefaly, which are gaining ground alongside pharma players advancing next-gen medications. However, most tools are still in the early stage, so access and cost remain real barriers.

What to Know: Migraines are one of the most common — yet disabling — neurological conditions out there, but care has been stuck in reactive mode for decades. Although these sensors and stimulators won’t replace a neurologist, they’re still making it easier to treat migraines like the serious, chronic brain disorder they actually are.
