Sunday-night prep, four mornings of breakfast that tastes like pie filling.

If you are craving the cozy, comforting flavors of a tasty dessert, but want to keep it clean and healthy, this Apple Pie Overnight Oats recipe is your answer. Warmly flavors thanks to those classic ground spices you find in apple pie filling, this is the type of make-ahead breakfast that will fuel you all morning. Prep this on a Sunday night and enjoy it as a simple, nutritious breakfast that will keep you energized and focused. Can’t find protein oats? Swap them out for old-fashioned rolled oats and add a scoop of your favorite unsweetened protein powder or almond flour to keep it balanced and satisfying. The chia seeds are what set the final texture, gelling as they hydrate, which is why the mixture keeps firming up the longer it sits.

Why This Works

Protein oats are the secret powerhouse here. They taste just like regular rolled oats, but contain up to 60 percent more protein.

Notes & Tips

  • Storage: Overnight oats will keep in an airtight container in the fridge for 4 days.
  • If it thickens: The mixture will naturally thicken over time. Add a splash of milk to bring it back to its original consistency.
  • No protein oats? Swap them out for regular rolled oats and add 1 scoop of unsweetened protein powder or ¼ cup almond flour.
  • Spice shortcut: Don’t have all those spices on hand? Use 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon or pick up a jar of apple pie spice and sprinkle in 2 teaspoons.
  • About the nutrition: Nutrition info is based on 4 servings and the serving suggestion for toppings. Toppings will add to your total nutrition depending on how much you put on top.
